Claiborne R. Hane is Counsel in the New York office of Brewer, Attorneys & Counselors. Hane is a trial lawyer who prosecutes and defends complex commercial and securities litigation in federal and state courts.
Before joining Brewer, Attorneys & Counselors, Hane worked at Kasowitz Benson Torres LLP.

Securing a $219 million recovery from Genworth Financial for misleading investors about the true state of its deteriorating long-term care insurance business. This recovery was the largest securities fraud class action settlement in the Eastern District of Virginia and third largest in the Fourth Circuit.
Securing a $120 million recovery from Weatherford International, Ltd., one of the largest international oil and natural gas service companies, for understating its global effective tax rate and overstating earnings per share.
Securing a $22 million recovery from Virtus Investment Partners for its representations regarding the historical performance of certain mutual funds.
Securing a conditional discharge for a CEO of a financial technology start-up in a criminal investigation by the New York State Office of the Attorney General.
Representing a former CEO and Chairman in unprecedented Sherman Act claims in an antitrust action brought by the FTC and seven state Attorneys General.
Representing a Fortune 200 company in an internal investigation of potential antitrust and price-fixing violations in coordination with the U.S. Department of Justice.
